The Boomer Is Back

Those of you who pay close attention to this blog know that the "Links" section includes several websites manned by good friends of mine. One such person is Greg "Boomer" Wry, whose site is boomerhandicapsraces.com. Boomer had been the voice of Yavapai Downs, the racetrack at Prescott, Arizona for many years, but was not there at the start of the 2009 season. The Prescott Courier is reporting that Boomer has returned to the microphone at Prescott and here is the link to that story:

That is very good news for Yavapai Downs and racing in Arizona in general. It gives my home state a very strong Daily Double of announcers of Boomer at Yavapai and the strong Frank Miramahdi at Turf Paradise, whose work you can currently catch at Stockton, California, by the way. Be sure to give a listen to the Boomer as well at Yavapai and congratulations to him for returning to his rightful post.

Tune in tomorrow for more from They Are Off. For right now, I am Gone... GOODBYE!
